🧭 Tibia – Starter Guide for New Players

Creating a character in Tibia is the first step toward an epic adventure. During the creation process, you choose your server, name, gender – and whether you want to go through Tutorial Island or skip it.

If you choose to play the tutorial, you will learn the basics of movement, combat, equipment, and NPC interaction. Afterward, you’ll be sent to the Island of Destiny, where you can try real weapons and face monsters.

At level 8, you select your vocation – Knight, Paladin, Sorcerer, Druid, or Monk – as well as your starting town, which will become your first home in Tibia’s vast open world.

Welcome to Tibia, a classic MMORPG where you explore a vast world, battle monsters, earn treasures, and make new friends! This guide takes you step by step from creating your account to starting your first real adventures in the game. Follow it at your own pace – and remember: the most important thing is to have fun!

Create Your Adventure Account

🎟️ To begin your journey, you'll need an account.
🔗 Go to Tibia.com and click "Create Account".
📥 Download the Tibia client after registering – it's free!

✨ Tip: Choose a strong password and store your login credentials safely.

🧙‍♂️ Now it’s time to create your hero! You’ll choose a name, gender, and server type:

  • ⚪ Optional PvP – safe and calm, perfect for new players.
  • 🔴 Open PvP – more excitement, as other players can attack you.
  • 🔥 Retro Hardcore PvP – extremely difficult, for experienced players only.

🏝️ Once you're done, log in and your journey begins on Tutorial Island.

🎓 Here you’ll learn the basics of Tibia:

  • 🦶 Moving around the world.
  • ⚔️ Fighting basic enemies and collecting loot.
  • 🎒 Using your backpack and talking to NPCs.
  • 🗝️ Completing simple quests to understand the game.

➡️ When you’re done, you’ll be automatically sent to the Island of Destiny for the next step of your adventure.

⚔️ Here you’ll train on real monsters, learn to use weapons, and receive starter gear depending on the vocation you want to try.

📈 Once you reach level 8, you choose your vocation (class):

  • 🏹 Paladin
  • 🔥 Sorcerer
  • ❄️ Druid
  • ✊ Monk

✅ All classes are available on all servers.

🌍 When you leave the Island of Destiny, you select which city to begin your adventure in.
⚠️ You cannot return to the Island of Destiny afterward!

  • 👑 Thais – royal capital, many players.
  • 👩‍✈️ Carlin – coastal city with strong female leadership.
  • 🐊 Venore – swamps and trade.
  • 🌳 Ab'Dendriel – elven tree city, peaceful atmosphere.
  • ⛰️ Kazordoon – dwarven city in the mountains.

🏜️ Darashia, 🏺 Ankrahmun, 🧙‍♂️ Edron, 🏝️ Liberty Bay, 🌴 Port Hope.

🏰 Now you're ready to explore your chosen city! Start by:

  • ✅ Visiting the temple – this is where you revive if you die.
  • 🏦 Finding the depot, bank, and training statues.
  • 💬 Talking to NPCs using commands like "hi", "trade", "bye".
  • 🐀 Hunting small monsters like rats, trolls, or skeletons.
  • 📚 Training your skills offline if you want to improve while not playing.

💵 To get started, you need money and experience:

  • 🪓 Hunt monsters near the city.
  • 🛍️ Sell loot to trade NPCs to earn gold.
  • 🧾 Do beginner quests like "Rookie Guard" and "Outlaw Camp Access".

  • 🔐 Enable two-factor authentication on Tibia.com for added security.
  • ❌ Never share your password with anyone.
